Bubbly records his sixteenth career success

Bubbly Bellini recorded his sixteenth career success and his fourth of the season as he took the three runner Follow @TipperaryRaces On Twitter Race.

Sent off the outsider of the trio at 7/2 the Adrian McGuinness trained eight-year-old was settled in rear by Declan McDonogh.

He was switched to the outer to challenge a furlong and a half from home and he was soon ridden.

He then swept through to lead inside the final 100 yards and kept on well to score by a length and a half. Intensical (5/2) was second under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger while the 4/5 favourite Father Frost was a further two and a quarter lengths back in last.

Declan McDonogh said afterwards: "He is unreal and was hating every minute of it (the ground) but kept trying and trying.

"He was leaning left near the line and I never thought he'd win a race on fast ground! Ado (McGuinness) does great with these type horses."

Travelling head lad Gary Bannon added: "The yard is in flying form and the Ayr Gold Cup has been the target all year for this fellow."

Like earlier winner Tylery Wonder Bubbly Bellini also ran in the Rockingham at the Curragh on Sunday, finishing down the field.
