"It was a nice race for her as she was getting the 7lb and claiming 7lb as well. It looked a nice opportunity for her," said Charles Byrnes after his Rosie Alice (6/1 into 5/2 favourite) landed a gamble in the Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan Beginners Chase.

Donie McInerney was the talented conditional entrusted with the spin on the Beneficial mare, and from some way out the pair were shaping up very well.

The only other 'girl' in the line-up, Penny Jane tried to bridge the gap to Rosie Alice on the run-in, but she was never getting there and two and three parts of a length split them at the line.

"We rode her a bit handier today and she jumped great. She'll probably go handicapping now," further explained Byrnes.

"She won in a lot worse ground than that in Tramore one day."
