Already a course winner but a beaten favourite here in December, Call Box was back at Downpatrick to justify favouritism in the Square One Bar Dromara Handicap Hurdle under Ben Crawford.

Despite drifting off the bend turning in, Call Box ran on along the near rail to beat Pink Goddess by three and three parts of a length.

Winning jockey Ben's brother Stuart trains Call Box for Seamus McAllister and he said: "We weren't as positive on him the last day here. Over that trip he needs to be ridden positively.

"We're pleased with that today and his target all season has been the Ulster National (comes up on March 25th)."

With regard to drifting off the turn-in, Crawford explained: "He's a funny little horse and likes a bit of company. He hasn't that much experience either." (GC & EM)
