Cara's Oscar made a winning return to action when claiming the Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Colm Murphy 's charge hadn't run since finishing well beaten at Galway last October but the 16/1 shot was produced in fine form for his comeback.

Robbie Power delivered his charge to lead after the second last and he stretched clear in the closing stages to post a seven-length victory over 4/1 favourite Sammy Black

“I'm delighted with that. He always seems to run well fresh. He's had more than his fair share of little problems,” said Murphy.

“We'll see how he comes out of this but he'll probably bypass Punchestown and we'll freshen him up and pick a little target.

“All his form has been on a bit of nice ground. He's so fragile and doesn't take a lot of racing though.

“He has schooled well over fences. He's not the biggest in the world but jumps well.”
