Carroll records 291/1 Treble

Apprentice jockey Gary Carroll had a day to remember after recording his first ever treble at Naas this afternoon when Via Con Dios from the John Hayden stable landed the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Series Handicap.

Nineteen year old Carroll who is a son of former jockey Raymond Carroll is attached to the Michael Halford stable and is enjoying a terrific season with total of 21 winners so far. He is currently five winners clear in the Apprentice Championship.

Winning trainer Hayden stated afterwards, “He’s a not a bad horse. There is another apprentice race coming up in the Curragh in a couple of weeks time and we’ll more than likely go there.”
