Cash battles to grab the glory

Cash And Go showed fine battling qualities, under Paul Townend, to grab the spoils in a hot looking novice hurdle at Gowran Park.

The four winners in the field swung into the straight with chances but the race developed into a duel between Cash And Go and Jenari from the second last.

A loose horse did the runner-up no favours as the pair battled it out going to the final flight.

6/4 joint favourite Cash And Go was a worthy winner, however, asserting his dominance in the closing stages for a length success over his fellow market leader.

The Edward O'Grady-trained winner was making it two from two over timber following an impressive success at Wexford late last month.

"I'm very pleased with that," said O'Grady. "I suppose we'll find another winners race for him and he'll go for something around Christmas time."
