Celeb finally gets the limelight

The decision to change tactics and make all did the trick for Local Celebrity trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick, as he justified favouritism in the bumper at Clonmel.

The 11/8 market leader, runner-up in three of his previous four starts, responded well when asked to go about his business well over a furlong out and soon quickened clear.

The Bach gelding stayed on well to beat Jack The Pirate (100/30) by three and a quarter lengths, with Sparville (16/1) the same margin further away in third.

Willie Mullins said, “We were probably not making enough use of him before and the change of tactics was certainly a help. He'll go jumping now.”
