Celebrity A Listed

Pat Smullen, narrowly touched off in the Flat Jockeys’ Championship recently, did come out best in a close finish to the Listed Carlingford Stakes at Dundalk this evening, partnering Celebrity Sevi to win for his employer Dermot Weld.

Celebrity Sevi was strongly pressed inside the final furlong but did battle gamely to eventually hold the challenges of Priomhbean, Super Say and Acushladear

Weld was absent but Smullen did mention “Celebrity Sevi is improving all the time and showed a great attitude as he was well-headed there. The strong pace suited as a mile and a half is probably his ideal trip.”
