Hurryupharriet (led at least some of the way to the start) was eventually withdrawn after refusing to load in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Bellewstown. They eventually went off all of nine minutes late but favourite backers were still relatively satisfied in the aftermath as Celtic Man (his supporters will suffer a 15 cent rule four) got the job done under Fran Berry.

Berry helped make the pace on the Lawman colt, third and second on his two previous starts and the 5/4 market-leader saw it out well inside the last to ward off the danger posed by the staying on Sign From Heaven Three parts of a length separated them at the finish.

Winning trainer David Marnane reported: "He's not winning out of turn. He'll get a good bit further, that's what he's bred for and I fancy he will.

"He's not really a five furlong horse. There's a listed race for him in Tipperary now. We'll think about that after seeing how he comes out of this.

"He might get a break though and then we'd step him up in trip when he comes back.

"The horse has a future – he has plenty of gears and I think he'll stay.

"He was a long time waiting in the stalls – it was ridiculous." (GC & EM)
