Chassotte back to winning ways in style

La Chassotte turned the concluding Free To Speak Apprentice Handicap into a procession when cruising home under John Reid.

The young Ballydoyle rider had a steering job on the Ger O'Leary-trained filly as she hit the front over a furlong out and went on for a three-and-a-half length victory. Shahrafi just prevailed in a good battle for second from Carefree Smile

It was the winner's fifth success of the year after her winning run was interrupted at Gowran last time.

"She won easy. I was a bit nervous before meeting the young man but once he spoke two sentences I knew he was a proper mature young jockey," said O'Leary.

"The plan is to hopefully get into the big race at Leopardstown (€90,000 Fillies Premier Handicap September 4th).

"We've had a great season with her and great fun."
