Connell the Limerick Leader

Barry Connell's success in bumpers continued at Limerick today, when the enthusuastic owner/rider partnered Western Leader to an all-the-way success in the Bank Of Ireland Bumper.

Afterwards winning trainer John 'Shark' Hanlon reported "Western Leader was a winner at this venue over Christmas and had a hell of a run at Ascot since when the ground, which I thought was good, beat him. He wants a cut in the ground and will go to Fairyhouse if the ground is soft."
