Art Of Logistics had to pull out all the stops to justify a short price in the opening maiden hurdle at Down Royal this afternoon.
The Exit To Nowhere gelding was sent off a solid 11/10 favourite and tracked the leaders in the two-mile contest under Bryan Cooper.
Dessie Hughes' charge didn't jump the second last too well but worked his way to the front before the final flight.
33/1 shot Toye Native soon pressed the hotpot, however, and the pair duelled it out from the last.
Art Of Logistics just found more in the closing stages to gain a neck victory and make a winning debut over timber.
The winner had taken a Roscommon bumper at the start of last month and was making only his third start having been a promising fourth on his debut at Punchestown.
"He go the job done. It was his first run over hurdles," said Hughes.
"He didn't really race and was waiting for the hurdles to come up to him. It was a good performance as the second might not be too bad - I trained the dam.
"He went to the last like a winner but then idled and pricked his ears. I thought he was beaten for a couple of strides afterwards but he won really well in the end and the third horse was quite a bit back.
"He's a very big horse and is only four so hopefully there is room for improvement. He could run in a novice hurdle now at Christmas."
