Cross returns in Flying form

Flying Cross shrugged aside a 309 day lay-off to land the concluding Super Sunday On October 3rd Race under Joseph O'Brien at Tipperary.

O'Brien deputised for Johnny Murtagh on Flying Cross. Murtagh was stood down for 48 hours with dehydration after riding in the first two races at the venue.

Flying Cross, by Sadler's Wells out of the multiple Oaks heroine, Ramruma, displayed a high knee action but he still managed to get the job done by a length and a half from Vitruvian Man

A maiden winner at Navan on yielding ground back in October, Flying Cross was well-fancied to make a winning reappearance as he found 4/6 from 9/10 on track.

His success meant that Murtagh missed two winners on the evening, the other being the dead-heater, Beauthea in the Tipperary Town Handicap.
