Jockey John Cullen had no ride in the Best Odds In Your Paddy Power Shop Handicap Hurdle at Naas today but did train the winner of the race with bottom weight Misty Lady (11/2), who gained a deserved second career win, under claimer Andrew Ring.

Cullen has been double-jobbing as a trainer for four seasons and while still very much active as a jockey, was today unable to ride at Misty Lady's 9st13lbs, instead opting to book Ring who also claimed a valuable seven pounds.

The winner was also notable for Cullen, not so much it was his first since the same mare won in January 2014, but was his first since moving to new facilities in Co Wexford in the past year.

Cullen, who now operates from the yard owned by former trainer Sue Bramall, later stated "she deserved it in fairness to her as she was second on her last three runs and it's also nice to get a nice pot (E11,730 to the winner).

"She'd a low weight and Andrew gave her a lovely ride. I was a bit afraid that it was too soon just two weeks after her run the last day.

"I'll aim her at races with good prize money where she will have a low weight."
