Custom Taylor (1/1 fav) had found one too good when trying to make all in a 2m3f bumper at Cork last month but nothing could get past the even-money favourite in Kilbeggan's finale over the same trip.

Declan Queally was on board for his father and namesake and kept Dr Brid Corkery's five-year-old up to his work to beat Rocco Boyo by four and a quarter lengths.

The winning rider reported: “He made a bad mistake at the first in his point-to-point and his jumping fell apart, but I felt he had a bit of boot and a bit of class and I said to Dr Corkery (owner) we’d go for a bumper.

“He had a lovely second at Mallow and a nice win here tonight. He stays well and is a Malinas so he was okay on the better ground.

“We’ll have a bit of fun hurdling with him hopefully.”
