Dundalk based Geoffrey Cuthbert recorded his first winner at Downpatrick today, when his Pink Goddess made all to win the First Past The Post Handicap Hurdle.

Ridden by Martin Ferris, the daughter of Exit To Nowhere battled well from the last to maintain her lead to the line, eventually defeating The Gnathologist by three and a quarter lengths.

Cuthbert, who trains near Dundalk racecourse, later said “that's my first winner – I've had 14 or 15 runners but have my license three years.”

“Martin (Ferris) said how much of a tough cookie Pink Goddess is and we'll aim her at a race at Galway next.”
