Daisy's Gift made a winning return to action when staying on well in the closing stages to land the Bloomfield House Hotel Mares Hurdle at Kilbeggan.

Willie Mullins charge was sent off the 2/1 favourite but was untidy at her early hurdles.

Ruby Walsh took closer order on the Presenting mare with a circuit to run and she hit the front before the second last.

She kept on well in the closing stages to post a comprehensive eight-length victory over long-time leader Duckweed

The winner was making her first start since landing a maiden hurdle at Killarney last July.

"She probably wants further and was a bit rusty first time out," said Walsh.

"She missed a couple of hurdles early on and I probably got back further than I would have wanted but she stayed at it well in the end."

Winning owner Nigel King added:- "She had one or two niggly problems after winning in Killarney and it was a good performance today to win first time out."
