Danny Mullins was seen to excellent effect when getting 11/2 second favourite Presenting Mahler home in front in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Beginners Chase at Sligo.

In this four runner event we had a spectacular unseat and fall from Water Sprite and Keith Donoghue at the third last. Thankfully both got up afterwards.

Meanwhile Danny Mullins really got Presenting Mahler motoring in the straight to tackle front-running '3s on' shot, the sweet-travelling front-runner Retour En France

When the Ruby Walsh-ridden Retour En France tried to quicken from the back of the last to fend off John Ryan's Presenting Mahler, her change of gear wasn't sufficient.

Presenting Mahler was soon marginally in front and though Retour En France rallied, she was a head down at the line.

They left the other finisher, Balofilo nineteen lengths back.

"She's a smasher and Danny was brilliant on her. She has a turn of foot and loves soft ground. She will probably run in the Graded race (Kilbegnet Novice Chase) at Gowran on Saturday, and hopefully she will be a contender for the winter," said Ryan.

Meanwhile Mullins commented: "It was always going to be tactical, and I was happy to follow Ruby although I didn't want to be too far out of my ground. Thankfully she had a good jump at the last."

John Ryan had his best season last year with eleven winners, and he has already trained ten winners this term.
