Dubliner, Kevin Darcy, a twenty-three-year-old from Swords, rode his first winner when bringing home the well-backed favourite, Boherna Lady (9/4), to win the Pat Doyle Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan.

Boherna Lady came through from mid-division to lead at the second last, and she went on to defeat Replacement Plan by a length and three parts.

Winning trainer Denis Hogan said: "That's brilliant for Kev. He's been with me two years, and had no jumping experience when he came to me. He's willing to learn and is light.

"The Premier Racing Club (owners of Boherna Lady) have three horses with me. There are about 12 lads involved in different horses, and it's a good way to get involved for small money."
