Day Of Destiny takes opener at Fairyhouse

The opening Ballyhack Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse saw a convincing winner in the PJ Colvilled trained Day Of Destiny.

Philip Enright who took the riding honours was in front at the last and the pair kept on well on the run-in to score by eight lengths.

Winning trainer Colville stated afterwards: "He's a grand horse, we found it difficult enough with him as he was hard to settle and his jumping wasn't great but he's got it together now."

"We didn't really know how he'd handle the ground but he did it quite well there."

"We might go for a handicap hurdle next, we'll wait and see what kind of mark the handicapper gives us."
