Dazzle dances off to retirement

Dazzle Dancer came out best in the Christmas Parties At Dundalk Apprentice Handicap by a head from King Of Aran

Eddie Lenihan's mount fended off King Of Aran who was coming home best and the handicapper can be proud of his efforts in this mile and a half contest as the whole field of fourteen runners were covered by no more than four lengths at the finish.

Paul Starr of the Ballylinch Stud, the winning owners, said of the Willie Mullins-trained four-year-old: "That was most likely her last race, I don't think there is anything else for her now. She is a well-bred filly (a half-sister to Lunduv) and she'll likely be retained as a broodmare at Ballylinch Stud now.

"We're just delighted to finally get a win with her as she had disappointed after some promising runs. It's a great way to sign off."
