The Flesk Valley Rowing Club Handicap provided punters with another thrilling finish with Desert Romance and Gary Carroll just holding on by the narrowest of margins.
Michael Halford 's charge was sent to the front by Carroll from over one furlong out.
The pair were strongly pressed by Napa Starr and Fran Berry on the run-in but Carroll's mount responded well to pressure to score by a short head.
