Disputed wore down game front-runner Samanntom to continue a nightmare night for the bookies at Tipperary this evening.

The Gigginstown gelding was well supported on course as he was backed from 11/2 into 4/1 favourite.

He travelled well into the straight under Bryan Cooper but found the long-time leader Samanntom a tough nut to crack.

The Westerner gelding, making his first start for trainer Gordon Elliott, got to the front on the run-in and posted a length-and-a-quarter victory.

Elliott's assistant trainer Ollie Murphy said afterwards:-

"He was having his first run for us and had been working away grand at home. He appreciated the better ground and might win another. He will also jump a fence."
