After winning the first with Moss Street Paul Carberry and Gordon Elliott doubled up in third, the Jumping Leprechauns Handicap Hurdle, as Swantykay justified favouritism.

The five-year-old son of Darsi finished a good fourth behind Route’s Delight at Bellewstown recently and having opened at 10/3 on-course today he was backed into 5/2 at the off.

Settled towards the rear of mid-division the Paul Holden owned gelding improved into a close fourth on the run to the second last.

He was third after that flight and travelled smoothly in second after jumping the last, overtaking House Limit on the run-in when ridden, going on to score comfortably by three and three parts of a length.

The aforementioned House Limit had to settle for second at 3/1 under Conor Maxwell for John Larkin while Thoonavolla was a further fourteen lengths back in third also at 3/1 under Kevin Sexton for Eoin Doyle.

Elliott said afterwards: "That's my first horse for Paul (Holden). He won well.

"Paul (Carberry) said the ground is getting a bit soft. The better the ground the better he is. Paul is brilliant, he takes his time on horses.

"He's named after a good friend of ours in Wexford. He might go for a handicap hurdle at Galway.

"Bayan will go for the Galway Hurdle. He'll be spot on for it. I thought it was a good performance the last day (Leopardstown on Thursday)."
