Doyle/Butler win opener at Tramore

The opening race this afternoon at Tramore, the Family Friendly Day At Tramore Festival Maiden Hurdle was won by the Eoin Doyle trained Beliar under Mickey Butler in the colours of Paul Holden.

Winning trainer Doyle said afterwards: “He has taken well to hurdles. The handicapper put him up twelve pounds for finishing second in Wexford the last day.”

“He’s a small horse and he wouldn’t be able to carry big weight in handicaps so we may go back to the flat or go for a conditions hurdle.”

“He loves fast ground and it was great to get a winner for the owner Paul, he is very loyal and has about seven horses in training with me.”
