Dundrum Doubles-Up

Owner and trainer, John Hennessy and Jessica Harrington were out of luck with The Bull Hayes, that one fourth in a good maiden at Leopardstown on Sunday, but they were back in business when Dundrum followed up his Down Royal success with a good performance in the Mullinavat Novice Hurdle.

Soon in front under Andrew Leigh, the son of Marju was going to win well until he got the last wrong, but the strong finishing Beneath The Radar was never going to quite get there, going down by a length and a quarter.

Mrs Harrington said: "He is a proper horse. He is better going left-handed but he won't get that now. He'll go to Fairyhouse. The better the ground the better he is and he jumped well today and he is improving all the time. We were probably better off making the running with him but in a proper race we'll drop him in. Andrew said that the ground was a bit dead in the straight for him." (EM)
