Shattered Love got back to winning ways as she made all in the Grade 3 Kerry Group Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase.

The daughter of Yeats won on her return to action at Fairyhouse in October, following up on her next start at Clonmel.

She went down by just three parts of a length to Jury Duty in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse on her last start, and she was expected to go one place better today, going off the 2/5 favourite under Jack Kennedy.

Sent straight to the front by Kennedy, she stretched clear before the last, keeping on well from there to score easily by ten lengths. La Bella Vida won the battle for second, and she was returned at 11/1 under Sean Flanagan for Liz Doyle, with Montana Belle another three parts of a length back in third.

Gordon Elliott trains the winner for Gigginstown House Stud, and his assistant Davy Condon said afterwards: "She was very good again and obviously the trip, going back to two miles, was a concern although the ground helped.

"Jack said she had no problem handling the ground and never came out of third gear. She quickened away from the last and won well.

"She can only beat what's in front of her but she was impressive. We think she's a Grade 1 mare but she might have to take on the geldings to get that win."
