Tharawaat the first horse Gordon Elliott has trained for Gigginstown House Stud, easily justified odds of 4/6 in the Cusack Hotels three-year-old Maiden Hurdle under Davy Russell.
The former Barry Hills inmate, who cost 28,000 guineas at Tattersalls in July, had begun at the winter game with an encouraging second to The Fist Of God at Down Royal and as a consequence the Alhaarth gelding was a strong market-leader here.
