Dawerann was produced with a well-timed run by Cian Collins to land the spoils in the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle at Punchestown.

Gordon Elliott recorded an across-the-card double as the 11/2 shot posted a two-and-a-quarter length victory.

The Medicean gelding came to challenge entering the straight and kept on well in the closing stages to get the job done.

The winner was turning out again quickly having been fourth when sent off favourite at Clonmel on Thursday.

“The trip was a bit short for him at Clonmel the last day and they didn't go fast enough. The trip suited him much better today,” said Elliott.

"Hopefully he can win another one. He has options as he could go back on the Flat and could go chasing as well."
