The Noel Meade trained Honourable Emperor (6/4) added to last month's maiden win with a win, when upped in class, in the Chefs Kitchen Race at Dundalk this evening.

Ridden by Joseph O'Brien, the son of Holy Roman Emperor made most of the running, but almost crucially was headed inside the final furlong by 5/4f Patrimonium However Honourable Emperor responded gamely to regain the lead close home for a half a length win.

Afterwards Meade stated “Honourable Emperor is coming along nicely and Joseph (O'Brien) thinks a mile and a quarter is ideal for him. We'll see if there's something here for him here in the next few weeks but he'd need good ground when he goes back on turf.

“He is a very uncomplicated horse, is very tough and has been doing all his work on his own as my other three year olds are not ready for a run yet.”
