Fran Berry returned to action at Dundalk this evening with a winner on his first ride back from injury, when steering Fairy Wing to win the Irish News Against The Breeze Rated Race.

Berry, who fractured his ankle in a fall in Japan last November, was seen at his best on the Jessica Harrington trained winner, eventually getting the better of front-runner Rocky's Pride inside the final furlong, for a neck win.

Afterwards Harrington stated “it's great to get Fran back with a winner. That horse is a bit of a monkey and was looking at the other one (Rocky's Pride) in the straight.

“However, there could be a bit of improvement in him yet and he's in a handicap at Leopardstown on Wednesday and if it's good ground he might go there.”
