Ruby Walsh maintained his unbeaten run since returning from surgery in June, when steering his father Ted's Old Castletown to win the opening www.tramore-racecourse.com Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today.

Walsh, who had surgery on ligaments in his right shoulder in June, returned to action at Tipperary on Sunday and picked up a winner there and another at the same venue on Tuesday, with Old Castletown leaving him three-from-three, with a decisive three and a half lengths win over Crown Theatre

Following Old Castletown's win, trainer Ted Walsh later stated “the race worked out for him and he jumped and travelled well.

“He (Old Castletown) is a top of the ground horse and the hood helped a bit as he is inclined to just take horses on - Ruby helped a bit too!”

He added “I'm just delighted for Denise Entenmann (nee Walsh) who owns him - she was married to a cousin of mine who died twelve months ago. She bred the horse and she also had the dam, who won races at Listowel and Leopardstown.”
