Favourite backers off to bright start at Cork

Favourite, Mujaazef got the better of his market rival, Lake Worth after a good battle for the opening four-runner www.corkracecourse.ie Race.

Kevin Prendergast's Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned three-year-old got to the front at about the quarter mile pole and despite the front-running Lake Worth keeping well to his task, there was three parts of a length between them at the line. There was a further six lengths back to the third-placed Lake Cresent

The winning son of Dubawi obviously goes well in testing conditions as he lost his maiden tag at the Listowel Festival on soft ground.

For Kevin Prendergast this was a second winner of the campaign following on from Baglioni at Leopardstown a week ago. For winning rider Declan McDonogh it was win number three of the 2010 Flat season.
