Fishers reels in the favourite

The Charlie Swan-trained At Fishers Cross grapped a last gasp victory to make a winning debut in the bumper at Cork.

Favourite Kick For Touch proved uneasy in the market (8/11 to 11/10) but looked set to collect when hitting the front early in the straight.

At Fishers Cross ran green as he tried hard in second under Brian Cawley but got the hang of things inside the final furlong to throw down a challenge.

The Oscar gelding, carrying Timmy Hyde's colours, put his head in front close home for a half-length success at odds of 8/1.

"He's related to Rhythm Section - the horse that beat me on Heist in the Champion Bumper years ago (1993). He was the biggest certainty ever going to Cheltenham!" revealed Swan afterwards.

"He's a big baby but has always shown us a bit. He was a bit green but is a lovely honest horse and stays really well.

"He's in the sales at Newbury on Friday evening."
