Fix It repelled Le Cheile s late thrust in Dundalk to win the seven furlong handicap for three-year-olds by a head for Johnny and Caroline Murtagh.

Caroline, daughter of trainer Johnny, always had the colt in the front rank. With under three furlongs to go the pair disputed the lead and got in front with over a quarter of a mile left. Le Cheile (6/1) and Kevin Manning threw down their challenge in the final furlong, but just failed. Aru Cha Cha at 8/1 was three parts of a length down in third.

Johnny Murtagh's wife Orla said: "I'm delighted. He's a small little horse and is ultra consistent. I'm delighted to get another win with him. Caroline is 18 and I'm finding it hard to get her to go to college now!

"The owner (JM Doherty) has two horses and his other one runs in Tipperary in 10 minutes [Arriana unplaced in the 4.10]."

The winner was supported at the track from 11/2 to 9/2 second favourite. Les Darcy the 7/2 favourite came home ninth.

Fix It brought up a double for trainer Johnny Murtagh as he was also successful with Calorie ridden by Gary Carroll in the second race.
