Folk Law belied her position as the outsider of five when taking the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery at Dundalk. Dandyleekie bounced out of stalls and the uneasy 7/4 favourite looked set to make all in this five-furlong event.

However the Tommy Stack-trained Folk Law, beaten less than two lengths by better-fancied stablemate Accepted at Tipperary on her penultimate start, had other ideas.

The Arcano filly finished strongly under Wayne Lordan to get her head in front inside the final 50 yards and score by half a length. Arriana didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs another length and a half back in third.

Lordan said, “It’s nice to get her head in front. She made the running the last day and I thought she might be better with a lead. Everything worked out well.

“She had a good run in a Listed race before when she wasn’t beaten that far. She will probably step back up for black type now.”
