Review GOWRANPARK 22nd Nov

An exciting finish to Gowran Park's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Chase resulted in a narrow victory for Oliver McKiernan's Follow The Plan (10-1).< Financial Reward tried to make every yard but a bad jump at the penultimate fence knocked the stuffing out of him and Follow The Plan came through approaching the last.< Western Gale found his second wind on the run-in and was gaining hand over fist, but John Cullen's mount battled gamely for a neck verdict.

Tony Martin's Another Ambition was a very impressive winner of the Thomastown Handicap Hurdle.

After pulling up on his latest run at Huntingdon, the seven-year-old was given a typically patient ride by Paul Carberry and arrived on the scene late in the day full of running.< Betabob boxed on admirably in second, but the 7-1 winner was just too good and wasn't extended to land the spoils by one and a half lengths.

Carberry was at his best again when guiding 9-4 favourite Island Life to victory in the Irish Racing Yearbook Handicap Chase.

Noel Meade's five-year-old struggled with his jumping and appeared to be facing a huge task five out, but his class kicked in from that point on and he had two and a half lengths in hand over Selection Box at the line.

The Green Fee Vouchers 3yo Maiden Hurdle went to Paul Flynn's timber newcomer Drunken Sailor

The 6-1 chance looked booked for second when hot favourite Admiral Barry took over approaching the final flight, but his bad mistake handed the inititive to Michael Darcy's mount, who stayed on to land a one-length win.< Oligarch Society (6-1) maintained her unblemished record with victory in the Porters Saddlery Maiden Hurdle under Davy Russell - another jockey to enjoy two winners on the card.

There was three in a line coming to the last but Michael O'Brien's charge took the flight best of all and moved past Persian City to score by a length.

Russell completed his double on the Michael Hourigan-trained Guts For Garters (7-1), who benefited from the fitting of blinkers in the Gowran Park Racing Club Handicap Hurdl
