The Michael Halford trained Callistan made all to win the Ashtown House Stud European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Tramore today, winning comfortably under Conor Hoban.

The race went off 28 minutes late due to the injury to Karen Kenny in the previous race which necessitated the arrival of an air ambulance, but once eventually started Callistan, a daughter of Galileo, maintained a good gallop throughout, before beating Zanka by a length and three parts.

Halford was absent but Hoban later stated “Conor Hoban: "She was tough and enjoys making the running at home so we talked this morning and the boss was quite happy to let me roll along in front.

“She appreciated being stepped up to a mile and a half with a bit of an ease in the ground and had a good first run in Gowran. The next day in Fairyhouse the ground was just a slight bit quick but she appreciated that today."
