Geoghegan wins opener at Dundalk

The opening race this evening at Dundalk, The European Mortgages Apprentice Handicap was won by the Joseph Quinn trained Matjar ridden by Chris Geoghegan and owned by Aine Brodbin.

Geoghegan raced his mount in behind the leaders, made progress 2f out and kept on well inside the final furlong to lead close home holding off Pat Flynn's Titus Academy by a head.
