George shows plenty of Dash at Tralee

Dashing George ran out the easy eight length winner of the featured Denny Gold Medal Handicap Chase at Tralee today, providing trainer/jockey Eric McNamara/Paddy Flood with another big race winner.

McNamara and Flood previously combined to complete back-to-back wins in the valuable Kerry National the previous month and Dashing George was himself following up a beginners' chase win at the same Listowel Festival.

Flood enjoyed an incident-free passage on the son of Beneficial, who eventually hit the front three out and soon shook off the challenge of Jamies Choice in the straight.

Afterwards McNamara reported "Paddy gave the horse a great ride and hopefully there is another big 'pot' in Dashing George somewhere although I thought he was badly handicapped coming here today!"

He added "the horse loves soft ground, jumps for fun but is not as effective going right-handed."
