The Adrian Murray trained Loughnagall readily justified 9/10 favouritism to win the Follow Kilbeggan On Facebook Beginners Chase at Kilbeggan today, scoring under Barry Geraghty.

Early leader The Lady Granuaile was headed by Loughnagall before the fourth last and from there, Geraghty kept the son of Lord Americo going to record an easy 12 lengths win.

Following the win, Geraghty said “Loughnagall needs better ground and I didn't want to ask him too much over his fences; he was very good over the last three though and won well.”

Trainer Murray also stated “I was worried he wouldn't handle the ground and is much better on better ground. He'll go for a handicap next and we'll play it by ear from there.”
