The Sandra Hughes trained Wrath Of Titans made a winning debut over fences at Fairyhouse today, landing the opening Next Racing At Fairyhouse November 18th Beginners Chase and continuing the recent purple patch of Gigginstown House Stud owned runners.

Gigginstown's recent good spell has yielded 18 winners in the past 14 days and Wrath Of Titans today gave his many supporters (10/11 in the morning into 4/9 favourite) few concerns. The Bryan Cooper partnered gelding was challenged by runner-up Undressed at the second last but soon went clear and apart from an untidy jump at the last, had four and a quarter lengths to spare at the line.

Wrath Of Titans' half brother Thunder And Roses famously landed last April's Irish Grand National for Hughes and following today's win, Cooper stated "he's bred to be a chaser as his brother, Thunder And Roses, was the same and it took him a while to win over hurdles as well. I hope he'll go down the same road.

"The ground is plenty quick enough for him as he'd appreciate an ease. He stays all day, and will be going up in trip rather than down."

Gigginstown, which has 61 wins and has earned approximately E1,155,000 in prizemoney this season, currently leads J.P. McManus, with E845,000 and 64 wins, at the head of the Owners' Championship.
