Grassick on the mark

Philosphers Guest made it front running performance to land the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap under a fine ride by Danny Mullins.

Michael Grassick’s charge who made all was clear from over a furlong out and stayed on strongly to record a comfortable four and a half length win over Rue De Cabestan

Winning trainer Grassick said afterwards: “Our horses have been out of form but this filly has been working well at home and it’s great she’s got us back on track.”

“I walked the course before racing and I think the clerk of the course was being very hard on himself there were definitely some good patches.”

“She’s the first foal out of Gemini Diamond so it was great to get a winning bracket.”
