Haqeeba seemed to have the Big Bad Bob Claiming Maiden (Plus 10 Race) within her grasp but she was mugged on the line in the Dundalk opener by the Johnny Feane-trained and Gary Halpin ridden Power Grid

Indeed Haqeeba touched odds of 1.15 'in the run' on the betting exchanges but she couldn't fend off 9/4 second favourite Power Grid who grabbed the verdict by a head. He'd come through from the back after dwelling at the stalls.

There was just three parts of a length back to Charlies Missile in third.

Curragh bloodstock agent and owner of Power Grid, James Mescall said: "I bought this horse for small money at Goresbridge Horses-In-Training Sale and held onto him. I've enjoyed a good association with Johnny, and this has proved a lucky place for me.

"He missed the break but has a habit of doing that, and would probably be better suited by a mile.

"All credit to Johnny who has turned this horse inside out. He's a trainer going places."

There were four claims (at 20,000 Euros) for Power Grid, and Gerry O'Leary was successful.
