Harangue burdened with 12-2 on his back, made light of the load as he won his third race in-a-row and gave jockey Adrew Lynch a double at Sligo.

Paul Gilligan’s five-year-old Street Cry gelding started his winning run in Worcester a week ago and then won in Southwell five days later. Bouncing Betty travelled well in this race when she got to the head of affairs, but Harangue was produced to challenge coming to the last and he kept on best to score by two and three parts of a length and reward favourite backers at 2/1.

“He’s in good old form. His owner Sean (Conroy) is having a great run. That’s his sixth runner and fourth winner in a week,” Paul Gilligan said. Carlyan stepped up on previous form when grabbing second under Jody McGarvey at 20/1. He was beaten two and three quarter lengths, but finished a head in front of Presenting Kate (16/1). Bouncing Betty weakened into fourth at 7/1 in this 16-runner Sligo Champion Handicap Hurdle.

Eoin Doyle, fresh from winning the leading trainer prize at Tramore’s four-day festival, sent out Kinghenrytheninth who was 20/1 this morning, but went off at 9s. He was out of the placings in seventh.
