Hats off to Heels in the bumper

Hats And Heels made a pleasing debut in the Irish Foal Levy Mares Flat Race as the 3/1 joint favourite got the better of fellow market leader Andreas Pride

The daughter of Flemensfirth, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick, cruised to the front about two furlongs out and found plenty under pressure to score by four and a half lengths.

Way Up In the Air (14/1) finished a further three quarters of a length adrift in third.

Patrick Mullins said, “She shows loads of gears at home, and our only worry was that she was having her first run but she stayed galloping. There is a Listed mares bumper coming up at Navan that she could go for, and she will jump hurdles.”
