Hazakiyra swooped late to land the spoils in the opening Ashtown House Stud Irish EBF Maiden at Tramore. Eria looked set for victory when hitting the front passing the two pole in the mile-and-a-half contest but was chased down in the closing stages by Dermot Weld's charge.

Conor Hoban got a good tune from the Aga Khan-owned filly as she got on top in the last strides to record a neck success.

The 7/2 winner had been third on her seasonal debut at Clonmel but was well beaten at Bellewstown last month.

“That was good. She handled the track well, she got the trip and enjoyed the ground,” said Hoban.

“If you ruled out her last run at Bellewstown the previous run in Clonmel was pretty good. I'm just delighted to get the winner for the boss.

“She stuck at it well, galloped the whole way to the line, and is very genuine.”
