Here Comes Sally wins for Pierce/Cawley

Here Comes Sally gained a deserved success on her third chase run when battling gamely, under Alain Cawley, to win the Bobbyjo Bistro Mares Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse today.

Here Comes Sally raced prominently throughout, and although the daughter of Rashar failed to convince in her fencing, dug deep on the run-in to eventually score a half length win over Liberty Counsel

Winning trainer Paul Pierce was absent but represented by his brother Andy, who himself had partnered the mare in two of her previous races, who stated “Here Comes Sally had a bad fall (when challenging at the final fence at Thurles last February) and took time to recover.”

He added “she lost her confidence over fences and Alain (Cawley) said she was backing off her fences a bit at Wexford the last day and again today. She's a good mare though and hopefully will win a good handicap some day. She is EBF qualified and will next run in a mares' novice chase – maybe at Cork in December.”
