Hoban reduced to 7lb after Hujaylea success

Conor Hoban had his claim reduced to 7lb when partnering his third winner aboard Hujaylea in the first division of the apprentice race.

The Westport native produced the gelding to lead well inside the final furlong and score by three-parts-of-a-length from Art Sleuth

"I'm delighted for him, he's a very good rider and that'll be a boost for him to lose his 10lb," said boss Michael Halford.

"The other two (Gary Carroll and Shane Foley) were going so well this season it was hard to get him going but he should do well next year.

"I'll be promoting him next year. The other lads are claiming 3lb now so his 7lb claim will be useful."
