Trainer Gordon Elliott, just touched off in the previous race with Russian War saddled Hoopy to win the Roscrea Active Retirement Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary today.
The son of Presenting, under a typically strong Davy Condon drive, eventually saw off the challenge of Ballochroy to win by half a length.
Afterwards Elliott stated “my yard has had a lot of seconds recently and its great to win again! Hoopy had just lost his way a bit recently – he tends to sulk when things aren’t going his way – but will now go for either a three miles handicap hurdle at Galway or the Galway Plate.”
